The 19-year-old’s youth career was spent at Yulee High School and DME Academy in Florida. He left that in 2023 to join another American side, AS Frenzi.

“I was recognized at an international tournament. To prepare for a professional career in Europe, I went to an academy in Florida. Two years later, I had my first trials with Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Rangers.” He said.
The Leipzig star then blamed his agent for failing to secure a move to Stamford Bridge, Ibrox or any other UK club.
Fast forward to February and Bild again pointed to Chelsea, Rangers and Bournemouth, and specifically asked Diomande why he didn’t join the Blues, the Ibrox club or the Cherries.
The player ultimately chose CD Leganés over Chelsea, Rangers and Bournemouth.
“It was a tough time. I felt like for a lot of people it was all about the money.” He said.
“A lot of people told me that I definitely had to play for Chelsea. Then I stopped everything and decided for myself. I knew the president of Leganés; he helped me go to America.
“Suddenly, I was faced with a choice: Leganés or Chelsea? It was risky, but fortunately, it was the right decision. I think patience is very important in football. It’s not always just about money. If you play well, it will come naturally. I’m young; I need to play to improve, to increase my playing value. And I’m not going to keep it on the bench.”

He scored nine goals and six assists in 24 matches in his first season in Germany, and his performances did not go unnoticed.
