Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is the ‘best market opportunity’ of the summer and it is an ‘extraordinary deal’ for whoever gets him.
This is according to the sport. The Spanish newspaper today serves as a promotional material for the Manchester City star, although strangely he has not once been linked with a move to Barcelona.
Silva continues to impress in Manchester City’s starting 11, as he has done since day one. He was again a key player in this week’s win over Fulham.
The 31-year-old shows no signs of slowing down, making for an interesting few months ahead. Why? Because his deal at Manchester City is set to expire in the summer. And so far, there have been no signs that he will extend his deal at the Etihad.
The Portuguese midfielder has already been loaned out in recent months. In fact, Sport Witness covered a report earlier this week Stating that Juventus have kept him in their sights for the summer.
The Italian giants have already agreed a two-year deal, with the coming weeks considered decisive for any potential transfer.
‘Wide range of destinations’
And Sport believe that if they or someone else can sign him, the deal would be one of the best of the summer. The Spanish newspaper today heaped praise on Silva and how he is still crucial for Guardiola and fundamental to Manchester City’s ‘balance and fluidity’.
They say he stood out once again against Fulham, controlling the midfield and acting as the glue between the midfield and attack. As far as he is concerned, Silva is a complete midfielder, capable of playing in a variety of positions at the highest level.
This is because it will have ‘a wider range of destinations’ available to it in the summer. According to the newspaper, most clubs will see him as a ‘real market opportunity’. In fact, the Sport thinks it will be one of the sexiest on the market. Whoever gets it for free will have ‘done an extraordinary deal’.
Where is Barcelona?
Interestingly, they don’t include Barcelona in the mix. The Catalans have been linked with Silva for years.
Indeed, almost every transfer window brought links pushing him towards the Camp Nou. In 2024, they also explored payment plans to try to secure a deal.
Now that it’s available for free, interest seems to have waned. Or, perhaps Sport are trying to give their club a little solace with this latest, glowing report on a Manchester City player?
