Bristol City have admitted that January signing Noah Ally is their number one aim this season, with promotion from the Championship.
He is talking to Fotbol Skanalen About his €4m transfer and his plans for the future after arriving from the US.
The 23-year-old had been in the US in New York since January 2024 after an €875,000 trip from his native Sweden to Malmo. During that time he made 72 appearances for MLS.
His presence clearly caught the attention of Bristol City, with the Robins splashing the cash in a €4m deal on deadline day. That deal made Alli the fourth most expensive signing of all time.
Ally is here to promote a potential promotion this season. Bristol City currently has 8th o 46 points in the championship. This leaves them in sixth place, just one point behind Wrexham, the final play-off spot.
Their new signing wants to help as much as possible, and when asked if the Premier League is the goal, he wasn’t afraid to admit it.
Promotion from the championship is the aim

“It’s a big city with a lot of supporters, so that’s definitely the goal,” He said.
“But like I said before, it’s tough. There’s a lot of teams with a lot of resources that are fighting for it, so it’s tough. But of course, that’s the goal, otherwise it would be weird.”
Alli may not break straight into the team, although Bristol City coach Gerhard Struber rates him highly. Reports in England state that they believe their new signing has great potential.
But he will also likely be reluctant to break up his current team. Or introduce a new player too early given the difference between MLS and the Championship.
Eli accepts this and admits that he is happy to be a part of the journey that Robbins is currently on.
“Mostly that this journey will be fun to be a part of,” When asked what he ‘expected’ he said.
“The situation at the top of the table is tight, as it often is in the Championship. You want to try to be there and help as much as possible to reach the first play-off places – and from there anything can happen.
“That’s the goal, to help the team in any way I can. I’m looking forward to it.”
