Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic missed the team's win against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday after JJ Redick suffered a mild hamstring injury as he was ruled out on the injury report.
As the Lakers were set to face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, Luka Doncic has been officially ruled out of the game due to the injury report as he is dealing with a hamstring issue. After the win against the Warriors, Redick admitted that Doncic is considered to be progressing day by day.
Doncic initially suffered the injury during the Lakers' win against the Philadelphia 76ers last Thursday. He exited the game at the end of the second quarter, and was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the game. He finished with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists in a little more than 16 minutes.
One of this season's potential MVP candidates, Doncic is in his first full year with the Lakers after last season's shocking blockbuster trade with the Dallas Mavericks. He currently leads the NBA in scoring with 32.8 points per game.
Doncic has played a little over 35 minutes per game in 42 games. He suffered some serious injuries at the beginning of this season, but he managed to overcome them. In addition to his points, he averaged 7.8 rebounds, 8.6 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 36.6 percent from the 3-point line and 77.5 percent from the free-throw line.
With Doncic out, the Lakers welcomed back Austin Reaves, who missed 19 games due to a calf injury. The Lakers are currently 32-19 and are in fifth place in the Western Conference standings. They have won three games in a row.
