While the New England Patriots will be busy trying to win the franchise's seventh Super Bowl this weekend, an interesting new report suggests they will be one of the teams targeting a blockbuster trade for one of the NFL's top pass rushers.
It has been a magical season for the Northeastern Patriots. Last season the franchise finished with a poor record of 4–13 for the second consecutive campaign. However, in just one year as head coach, Mike Vrabel has overseen one of the worst debut stories in NFL history.
This Sunday, the team that was the laughing stock the past two seasons will now compete in the Super Bowl. Without a doubt, stars like Drake Mays, Robert Spillane, and Stefon Diggs played a huge role in their shocking resurgence. However, if not for the staff he hired and the cultural changes Vrabel created, the NE Patriots would not have reached the Super Bowl this week.
During his tenure as head coach of the Tennessee Titans, Vrabel went 54–45, winning Coach of the Year honors twice and taking the team to the playoffs in three of his six seasons. That's why some felt he was unfairly fired after the 2023 season and why the NE Patriots jumped at the chance to bring him back to the organization. Suffice it to say that the coach has a very good reputation in the league.
NE Patriots linked to offseason Max Crosby trade

Well, that reputation could play a role in a big move the NE Patriots make this offseason. Whether they win the Super Bowl on Sunday or not.
Rumors continue to circulate that Max Crosby's days with the Las Vegas Raiders are done. The Athletic's Diana Russini added to that story on Saturday when she claimed she “doubts he'll play” for new Raiders head coach Clint Kubiak next season.
So, where might the five-time Pro Bowler end up if he was traded? Russini reports, “Crosby once told me he would love to play for Mike Vrabel, and it's easy to see why they would be a good match.”
While an NFL insider says the New York Patriots would be one of several teams interested in acquiring Crosby, they will have a solid chunk of salary cap space this offseason, and may be willing to give up a first-round pick in April to land him after their Super Bowl run this season.
