The Washington Wizards have made an official decision on the availability of Anthony Davis for the remainder of the 2025-26 NBA season.
Washington acquired Davis from the Dallas Mavericks before the trade deadline. They traded him, Jaden Hardy, D'Angelo Russell and Dante Exum in exchange for Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Tyus Jones, Marvin Bagley III and draft compensation.
However, injuries have been brutal for Davis this season. He appeared in only 20 games throughout the campaign, suffering a calf muscle strain before suffering injuries to his arm and groin.
Knowing how important Davis will be to their plans, the Wizards will sit the star big man out the rest of the year to fully recover for next season. NBA insider Chris Haynes revealed this on Friday.
“Washington Wizards star Anthony Davis (hand, groin) is expected to sit out the remainder of the season to be fully healthy for the 2026-27 season, league sources tell me,” Haynes wrote.
