AC Milan and Bologna were too busy watching with regret on Jorgen Strand Larsson's €50m move to Crystal Palace on deadline day.
At least that's according to Tuttomercatoweb. The website reports that both sides may have had their own strikers a few years ago.
According to his information, Strand Larsson could have arrived in Bologna while he was at Celta Vigo. He was on their list, and the Italian side even made a trip to watch him play against Atlético Madrid. Talks took place, but they failed to close and he remained in Spain.
Meanwhile, Milan are regretting their decision to leave Larsson to their U19 team. He signed for them in 2017 but struggled and went on loan to Sarpsborg on 2018–08. By 2020 he was sold to FC Groningen.
He scored 27 goals and nine assists in 71 games for them, Before joining Celta Vigo. Scored 18 goals and nine assists for the Spanish side before joining Wolves on loan. An impressive first year in the Premier League saw them sign the 26-year-old permanently for €27m last summer.
Newcastle then made a big money offer in the summer before signing Nick Woltemaid. Strand Larsson got his comeuppance on deadline day in January, and joined Crystal Palace for €49.7m. As far as the Wolves are concerned, that's an impressive profit for a year's work.
Meanwhile, AC Milan and Bologna are yet to be watched with a hint of regret. If history had been different it could have been money in his pocket.
