Given their success since signing Nordy Mukiele in the summer transfer window, Sunderland may want to take a look at their younger brother.
Ouest France covers the 20-year-old today As he continues to make his mark at Stade Rennais.
After coming up from the youth ranks and the B side, young Mukiele made his competitive debut for Rennes this season.
With one goal in three Ligue 1 games so far, he has quickly made his mark. That goal against Nice ‘turned heads’ as it was a beautiful right-footed shot in a 4-0 win.
“It’s incredibly emotional! We’re in a great place with the team, we’re putting in the effort and we’re being rewarded.” he later said on the club’s website.
“People may be talking about me, but we also need to talk about Ludovic Blas (who scored the third goal) and the substitutes. I’m happy to contribute to the win.”
strong bench option
That goal was actually Mukiele’s third goal in four days at the time. This came after scoring a brace for the reserve team in their 3–2 win over Lens.
He has been described as a ‘physically imposing’ striker with a ‘well-rounded’ and versatile profile. His goal at Nice is likely to help him find his feet and contribute off the bench. He is certainly influenced by manager Frank Hise.
“He has shown many good things since I arrived,” He said.
“Looking at what we were looking for at the end of the matches, Norden had the right profile for me, and I think he’s making progress.”
sunderland love france
The question is whether Sunderland would want such a deal. The Black Cats have certainly shown a willingness to focus on youth since promotion last year.
Nilsson Angulo, Jocelin Ta B and Melker Aalborg are all under the age of 23 and have signed this season. There is also a strong focus on France.
Habib Diarra, Nordy Mukiele, Salis Abdul Samed, Adil Auchiche and Abdallah Ba have signed directly from France. French players such as Enzo Le Fee and Wilson Isidore are also key players under Regis Le Bris.
Thus, it would make a lot of sense for Sunderland to keep an eye on young Mukiele. It’s probably up to him to continue to impress between now and the end of the season.
Norden Mukiele’s Stade Rennais contract runs until June 2028. transfer market Value him at €200k, although that would be more of a stab in the dark than usual.
Both troubles are represented by Sport Cover, who interestingly also look after the Thuram brothers.
