PHOENIX – Injuries have been plaguing the Phoenix Suns, and this time it’s cost Dillon Brooks. During Saturday’s thrilling 113-100 double overtime win, Brooks suffered a broken hand, shocking many.
The latter suffered an injury in the first quarter and was smiling slightly after taking a shot or handling the ball. After the game, Phoenix players were made aware of the injury and had a variety of reactions.
They were all sad, Jalen Green was in complete shock when the media told him about Brooks’ injury.
Green said after the game, “I never want to see anybody get injured, especially not break something. But, I mean, he’s my guy.”
“I’ll keep his morale up. He’s needed out there. We miss him out there. Hopefully, after I get out of here I’ll talk to him and see where his head is at.”

Moments earlier, the media talked to Grayson Allen in the locker room. When he was told about Brooks’ injury, he knew because he talked to him immediately after the game.
Allen noted that Brooks was “frustrated” and would “keep it down” as long as he was out. However, the sharpshooter has an important message for all those who are on the field and available.
“It’s extremely unfortunate. It’s been just bad luck for us all year. We’ll definitely miss him, but the next guy will come, and hopefully all the guys that are ready now stay healthy because we need everybody moving forward,” Allen said.
Suns to miss Dillon Brooks after hand injury

Injuries come and go but at this stage of the season the time missed is becoming more and more significant. For someone like him who has lost only seven games, the best ability may be availability.
Not having a second leading scorer in the team can spoil the dynamics. He has improved as a scorer, but Brooks brings an edge that most in the NBA don’t have.
But that’s not stopping head coach Jordan Ott from feeling bad about himself or the team following Brooks’ injury. Still, there is one key to stopping the bleeding that has been the team’s livelihood.
“We can’t feel sorry for ourselves,” Ott said. “Nobody’s going to feel sorry for themselves. They (Orlando) certainly aren’t going to. They’re trying to go out and win games just like us. Nobody cares. Nobody cares. And when you’re stuck the only group that can help us is our group.”
The camaraderie within this special Suns team is one of the many focal points. But with three games over the next five days and both Brooks and Devin Booker out, it will be a big test.
Once again, it’s the next man up mentality.
