A new report from a renowned boxing analyst may reveal who Floyd Mayweather will face when he officially ends his retirement following his upcoming exhibition bout with Mike Tyson.
Mayweather officially retired from boxing in 2017 after a highly lucrative crossover mega-fight with UFC superstar Conor McGregor. However, in retirement, he has continued to do what he does best: fight. Over the past year, “Money” has competed in six exhibition bouts, including bouts against Logan Paul and the grandson of mobster John Gotti.
They were unofficial fights that had no impact on his impressive 50-0 record. It’s a tour Mayweather plans to continue in April when he takes part in his most high-profile exhibition yet, when he faces heavyweight icon Mike Tyson. However, the boxing legend revealed some surprising news on Friday.
“I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing,” Mayweather told ESPN after signing a contract with CSI Sports/Fight Sports. “From my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight after that – no one will draw a bigger gate than my event, draw a larger global broadcast audience, and make more money with each event.”
There has been speculation for several months that Mayweather has serious money problems, which is why he is currently suing Showtime for the $340 million he believes it is owed to him. Getting back in the ring before he turns 49 next week and risking the most important thing to him – his undefeated record – only adds to the speculation about his bank account.
Will Floyd Mayweather face Manny Pacquiao after Mike Tyson exhibition?

Mayweather is a smart fighter and has long been known for taking fights with high buy-rate opportunities but low risk in the ring. So, who might he have in mind for his first professional fight in almost a decade? Dan Cannobio of the popular podcast Inside Boxing has an idea.
“If I were a betting man. It would be a tune-up fight against Mike Tyson, and then a professional bout against [Manny] Pacquiao on Netflix. This game is crazy about bats,” he said.
There have been rumors of a Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch for the past few years. With “Pac-Man” returning to the ring for an official fight last year, this second clash makes sense after the fight in 2015. The American won that fight, and beating the slower Pacquiao in the 11-year-old version is a classic Mayweather “risk” fight.
